Eri HaKawai v1 (New Exploit)

New exploit for NTSC & PAL.

GiantPune's Notes
=================
This is another wii exploit. This time for "Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of
the New World" (RT4EAF). It works by exploiting a buffer overflow. This was
originally found by Pierre "delroth" Bourdon. He has written an exploit that
works on the PAL version of the game. And he provided enough information that
making this one only took a couple hours.

Source code is included that I used to make the exploit ( all of it is licensed
under GPLv2 ). Its a 2-part deal. Build the stuff in the "loader" folder, and
it should produce "loader.bin". Then, using the Qt SDK, build the "ToSHack.pro"
project. It should create a program called "ToSHack". This program will look
for a couple different files. It reads "./loader/loader.bin" which is the loader
you already built, next it reads "./baseSave/0001000052543445/01.dat" which is
the data file from some save I found online. Then, it inserts the elf loader
into the original save, overwrites some stuff to create the buffer overflow,
fixes the checksums, and writes it to argv[1]. Once you have this, just pack it
up with segher's tools.

Again, everything involved is licensed under GPLv2. You can do with it just
about whatever you want. I ask that you please refrain from mirroring these
files but instead link people back here.

Cascade Beneath 1.0

by ThatOtherPerson
Get the ball to the bottom before hitting the top of the screen.

ThatOtherPerson's Notes
=======================
Here is a Wii and PC port of my GP2X remake of my PS3 game Cascade Beneath which was/is a clone of the classic game Fall Down which was perhaps best known for its TI calculator incarnation. Hooray for cross-platform games.

Its been slightly tweaked. The game speeds up a bit slower for example and obviously the screen resolution is higher (640×480 instead of 320×240) but its pretty much identical to the GP2X version.

Just tilt the wiimote from side to side to move and try and avoid being pushed to the top of the screen by the moving platforms.

Winters End 1.0

by ThatOtherPerson
Fun snowman game.

ThatOtherPerson's Notes
=======================
The entries for the Drunken Coders Competition have been posted. There where four entries for DS but it it turns out Winter’s End was the only thing submit for Wii.

Winter’s End is a simple winter themed game. You play as a snow person who is very slowly melting away. You can move around the map and collect snow to make yourself larger. When there is no snow left in the area you taken to the next level and when you complete the tenth level it will loop back to the first.

In the Wii version your movements are motion controlled (hold the wiimote sideways like an NES controller and tilt it in the direction you want to go) and you use the directional pad to turn the camera.

In the PC version you use the WASD or arrow keys to move and the camera spins depending on where in the window the mouse cursor is located.

The background music used in this game is After Winter Dreams by Click.

CHANGELOG
=========
• Added Radar - showing enemies, mines, missiles & satellites
• Added Menu, Intro & Credits screen
• Intro screen logo made from mines (scanned from tinylogo.tga), these mines start of slow then spurt off after the crafts.
• Added Music - 'Space Debris' Amiga tracker module, plays while in the menu screens
• Add Trails to enemy crafts
• Changed trails for missiles and mines
• Changed to way collisions work - ship to ship collisions now destroy enemy crafts
• Change the way the 'you are dead' screen looks
• Added 'bye' screen
• Fixed zero bugs "which was nice" - I've noticed the looped engine sound plays on into the menus if you died with thrust burning, I'll fix that on next release, at the moment its a feature ;)
• Added Hardware Drawlist for 3D objects - so pre-build objects can be spat out without the need of the main CPU
• Increased the resolution of Wiimote to help pointer travel off screen and still be active around the edges
• Changed the look of some resource graphics - mainly explosions which also double up as stars and exhaust trails
• Optimised the mines - I was creating and displaying a new mine trail every frame, requiring about 60 objects plus all the overheads that go with it.
• Optimised the dispay code for most objects.
• Added a lower detail moon with some rocks spinnig in orbit
• Improved the lighting on 3D objects
• Added ingame backdrop far into the Z plane so it scrolls slowly, reduced from 1024 width at the last minute to 800 pixels so it fits the 2MB upload limmit - I'm just far to lazy to look for somewhere else to upload, plus its a challenge making a game fit into 2MB ;)

AnyTitle Deleter MOD 7

by Red Squirrel
AnyTitle Deleter MOD is an unofficial mod by Red Squirrel of tona's AnyTitle Deleter, which allows you to completely delete (almost) any title on your Wii. This is useful as a space-freeing application, an informative application, and a paranoia tool.

It keeps all original tona's AnyTitle Deleter functions but it allows the program to show the real names of titles instead of just ID numbers, making it easier to select which ones you actually want to delete.

From MOD v3 it has also many new features, as a installed titles backupper, IOS chooser, display modes or the possibility to exit rebooting the Wii.

CHANGELOG
==========
-Improved application's general efficency: now all titles names will be "obtained from NAND" at program's startup and saved in an array. In this way the program has not to reload them (re-accessing to the NAND) every time you change a page or a title group (like happen in past versions!) but it simply takes them from the array. This means a significant improve to the time efficency of the program (specially if you have many titles installed!)
-Improved the functions to get title names from NAND.
-Now titles names obtained from NAND will be displayed in your Wii system language!
-Added a function to get Hidden Channels names from NAND. I know it is not very useful at all because hidden channels are usually only three (DVDx, EULA and regsel), but if -I remember well there was a tool (by WiiPower?) to create "homebrew" hidden channels, so this function could still be usefull to someone.
-Thanks to above news, now only DLC content titles have to take their names from database.txt, all other titles names can be obtained from NAND (compatibility is at 99%).
-Given the current high compatibility, now the program tries to obtain titles names from the database.txt only for DLC content titles!
-Many changes to the application's pages graphics structure!
-Now some of the program strings are colored to highlight some relevant concepts and to make the general graphics nicer.
-Now the titles will be displayed in a more readable "table"
-Increased the titles displayed in every page from 12 to 20.
-Removed the function to update the database.txt from network. Now that only few title names are taken from it (only those of DLC contents) this function is essentially useless.
-Added three display modes for the titles: ID + CODE + NAME, CODE + NAME and ONLY NAME.
-Now the 2 button is used to switch between the three display modes.
-Improved the titles uninstallation function.
-The uninstallation page now shows also many title's details: ID, code, name, IOS required, version and if fakesigned (thanks to bushing!).
-Improved brick prevention functions.
-Changed and improved the backup titles list function.
-Now you can choose between two different backup titles list modes: into a TXT file or into a CSV file.
-Now in the backup file of your titles list will be inserted also the title's version.
-A general clean up to the code.

by Scip, Rodries, tipolosko, AgentX, Ludovic Orban, Tantric, Blue_K, metaradil
MPlayer CE is an unofficial port of the very popular multimedia player for various platforms including Windows and Linux. This Nintendo Wii port features the same compatibility that the other versions offer, but is limited in some aspects as it can't playback some high resolution videos due to the processing power of the Wii.

MPlayer CE will allow you to watch various movies in different formats on your Nintendo Wii including AVI, DIVX, XVID, MPEG2 and DVD Videos. It actually supports a huge range of formats and can playback media from DVDs, SD Cards, USB drives and over your local area network using Samba (SMB) shares. MPlayer CE also allows you to listen to radio streams over the Internet and watch YouTube.

SmashStack PAL/KOR

by giantpune
The famous SmashStack exploit is now available for Pal and Korean Wii systems.

SmashStack is a custom stage made for the "Super Smash Bros. Brawl" Wii
game. It is designed to load unsigned code from the SD card. These 2 stages are
similar to the USA and JAP SmashStack exploits in that they are triggered the same way by the user and they load the same file from the SD card.

The Untitled Project 0.2

by ThatOtherPerson
A polygonal 3D game on Wii.

ThatOtherPerson's Notes
=======================
I couldn’t get lighting working I’ll try again later. But anyways here is a very small update to the Wii version of everyone favorite massively incomplete open world cyberpunk game.

moving elevators have been added
added trashcans
the spinning collectible things have also been added but you cant actually pick them up yet
I switched it to a first person view
now you use the wiimote pointer to aim and turn
instead of being treated by the collision system as though you where as tall as you where wide you now have actual height
I fixed some other flaws with the collision system
the world is slightly larger

This time around I included the source code. I would love to see any changes that anybody makes to it or anything made with it.

BennuGD Wii RC1+ (mod_chipmunk integrated!)

by josebita
Bennu is a high level open source game development suite which focuses on modularity and portability, making it a perfect choice for cross-platform game development.

CHANGELOG
=========
Refreshing the BennuGD for Wii binaries with a very nice addition: Chipmunk physics library integration. Just in case you missed earlier posts, mod_chipmunk is a wrapper for BennuGD created by Prg that allows you to unleash the full potential of the Chipmunk physics library with a BennuGD friendly syntax.

The cool thing about this library is that creating a reallistic physics simulation is quite complicated even for those with a clear understanding of what's going on and this library manages all the physic interactions easily and effectively.

Please, understand that physics simulation can be a very processor-intesive process. If your game slows down too much, try reducing the number of active processes.
